Atlanta is the home of great change in the name of equality, and we’re committed to seeing that through in the ad industry. In partnership with The Gathering Spot, we’re offering grants and ongoing mentorship to Black-owned marketing and ad agencies in our city.
August 2019 – This summer, 8 4A’s MAIP interns participated in the AFC MAIP program in Atlanta. Each Wednesday, the interns rotated between the four agencies within the AFC coalition – Moxie, Fitzco, 22Squared, and JWT – getting opportunities to learn about each agency’s clients, work, and culture. They also met with panels of professionals, mentors, and executives from each agency and had candid conversations about advertising in Atlanta.
August 2019 – We’re proud to announce our 2019 AFC Intern of the Year, Taylor Torok. Taylor Torok is a first-generation Cuban-American and a 2019 University of Florida grad with a degree in telecommunications and a concentration in marketing. This summer, she interned at Fitzco, demonstrating her passion for strategy and creativity. Ultimately, she led her team to victory in the AFC intern project. Taylor was named the winner of the AFC Intern of the Year Award at the 4A’s Face of Talent event in New York City. After careful deliberation, she chose to return to Fitzco and will be joining the team as a junior strategist in September.
We’re proud to announce our first award recipient, Lisa Marie Rainford. The 2017 University of Georgia graduate constantly impressed with her work, and it ultimately led AFC’s decision to choose her as MVP. Each of our four founding agencies then extended an identical job offer to Lisa, and when she took the stage and chose Fitzgerald & Co.’s offer as junior strategist, the room roared with pride and support.
On August 10, 2017, AFC received the MAIP Agency of the Year Award—a standout recognition for our organization. It’s been a more successful first year than we could ever have imagined, and our journey to grow multicultural talent in the Atlanta advertising industry has only just begun. We’re excited to see where AFC will go in the coming years.
